Doctor convicted to five years probation for steroids conspiracy

A doctor who was part of a conspiracy to sell steroids to patients and other buyers has been sentenced to 5 years probation and 100 hours of community service. He admitted to dispensing anabolic steroids outside the normal practice of medicine. The discussion whether to revoke his license is still on and he would be facing up to a decade in prison incase his probation under house arrest is lifted. This is yet another case of malpractice and shows how far the use and distribution of steroids has gone. People who are not supposed to be using or distributing steroids are doing exactly that and are destroying the lives of their clients. Police officers have also been known to be part and parcel of the sale and distribution of steroids to potential clients and it can be disheartening. Heller pleaded guilty but his attorney mentioned that he has otherwise lead a law-abiding life and his sentence should have been reduced. The Nebraska doctor had been distributing testosterone to patients of one of his friends who run an “anti-aging” business. There has been a lot of debate about steroids; with many people arguing that it should be legalized now that many people are being charged with its use and the underground businesses have become too big to control. However, in an effort to educate people against the use of steroids, authorities are pointing out the long-term effects of steroids, even as the gains are wonderful and attractive. Users are becoming younger and younger and they use steroids oblivious of the side effects that come with the use of any kind of steroids. Testosterone is anabolic steroid, meaning that it will build your muscles and add strength to them. This is positive, and the main reason kids of all ages will run for steroids of all kinds. Anabolic steroids will reduce the time you take to recover from injuries and this means you will take a lot more time exercising and building the muscles. However, there is the fact that these positive effects will only last as long as your steroids will be available. When you stop using steroids, you will lose the muscles you have gained and your performance will come down. Then there is the fact that if you overuse them you will have watery muscles that will not have any strength. Also when the use of steroids is not accompanied by change in diet and exercise, there is only so much you can gain from the use of steroids. As for the side effects, you can expect the reversal of the gains once you stop using the steroids. Then of course there are the two side effects that are feared; gynecomastia and Virilization that will change your physique.
