ESPN has revisited the Ben Johnson steroid scandal in its coverage

ESPN, the famous sports channel, during covering of 2012 Olympic athletic competition has reverted to the Ben Johnson’s steroid slander. During this reporting, ESPN also talks indirectly about the Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt as the one who offended the country and the sport field in 1988. There is not any complete proof about Usain Bolt that he used anabolic steroid but people are still suspicious about his performance. Because as Ben Johnson made a world record of running 100 meters in 9.79 seconds using steroids so how could it be possible for Usain Bolt to run 100 meters in 9.58 seconds without using any kind of steroids?

Sprinter Ben Johnson had a fine positive result in test at the Olympics of 1988 held in Seoul, by anti doping authorities for oral steroids known as Winstrol. But his scandal resounds greatly in the world especially in his own home country, Canada. Subsequently, there have been several steps taken by Dublin commission for the fair playing in the field and also a great investment had been done on investigation for fair playing by government respectively.

Ben Johnson accompanied by his coach Charlie Francis together confesses about the using of anabolic steroids by sprinter but at the same time they deprived of using Winstrol. Ben Johnson was infuriated that he was blamed for using Winstrol. He also admitted that He choose to use steroid during Olympics held in Seoul. But those steroids were not Winstrol, they were some other steroids designed by some East German fellow.

Johnson had also used steroids like Winstrol and Dianabol. And because of Dianabol, he had also suffered heavy muscular growth, which is not favorable always for sprinter. The Winstrol also had some negative effects like contracting and tightening of muscles, so that’s why he finally decided to chose Furazabol, which was undetectable in previous days.

Johnson claims accidently usage of Winstrol and blamed one of his close friends behind it. At the same time, his coach Charlie Francis blamed some lofty American with dark skin color, behind all this.

Johnson retried to make his way back to Barcelona Olympics after this scandal in 1992, but was unsuccessful to reach to the finals of 100 meter sprint. In the next year, He was banned for the life time period by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) because of his negative results of testosterone:epitestosterone (T:E) ratio doping control.

Johnson then tried to restore towards the athletic competition but was then abandoned for the third time in case of doping. Most of the people consider that Johnson gave only shame and embracement to the Canada. But also there are some who think that Johnson was somehow particular and extra ordinary because of his spectacular and magnificent way of cheating.
