Swindon man arrested for steroid smuggling

Smuggling steroid is not a bearable crime in any part of the world and anyone found guilty of this crime has no option but to spend some years of his/her life in jail with heavy fines. This is what happened to a polish man who was arrested for steroid smuggling in UK. In January 2012, Wojciech Brzeski, resident of Swindon was punished for 15 months by the court of Canterbury Crown. He was arrested by the officers in April 2011 while he was smuggling nearly 21,000 phials steroids to the different part of the United Kingdom. After the initial investigation and questioning it was found that the person is involved in steroid smuggling. Upon searching, testosterone and nandrolone was found from the person’s car boot. The value of the steroids found was nearly £189,000 upon selling it in black market.

UK border agency is quite vigilant in such matters and hence smuggling steroids or any banned substance for that matter is not at all acceptable in any ways. Brzeski was sent to the jail the same day he was found guilty of this crime. Assistant director of investigation team of UK border agency, Malcolm Bragg told the media that UK border agency has the main aim to fight drugs or any other illegal substance and/or weapons from entering UK. He continued that the arrest and sentencing of Wojciech Brzeski will discourage all the smugglers having similar intention as UK border agency is committed to stop the smuggling of banned substance. He said the use of anabolic steroids is injurious and UK border agency will try its best to stop any provision and circulating of this substance in the country.

UK border agency has equipments of high technology to ensure there is no lacking in terms of search and detection of smuggled items. Their hi-tech detectors find the restricted goods to ensure they don’t enter the boundaries of the country. These detectors also include carbondioxide detectors. Besides this, other search techniques are also used like search dogs, heartbeat monitors and scanners etc. Visual search to identify hidden stowaways, firearms and drugs etc are also used. All these measures are important according to UK border agency as they know their negligence may harm local people by allowing the supply of these items in the country. Supply of steroids not only harms the person who uses them but has a bad impact on the overall community. By making access to steroids easy, the country will definitely invite its devastating effects themselves. Therefore UK border agency is conscious as well as cautious and plays their part well to ensure no such items are smuggled in the country as this will ensure safety of its people.
